After discovering a health issue, we became interested in natural skin care and household products to lower our family's exposure to harsh and potentially inflammatory chemicals.  However, finding products that actually worked with only natural  ingredients proved nearly impossible. Meanwhile, our daughter had adopted an entrepreneurial spirit and was looking for something to sell at a Market Day for her school group.  Mother and daughter decided to try their hand at making lip balm.  The resulting product became a family favorite, and was a success at  Market Day!  From there, Simply Handmade was born.
